MCI Benelux SA is looking for an AM&C Operations Director.
The AM&C Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of different associations while ensuring all processes align with the organisation's broader strategic objectives.
The Role
Strategic Execution & Operational Oversight
- Collaborate with the Account Director to develop and refine strategic business planning documents aligned with the association objectives.
- Guides cross-functional teams in operationalising strategic plans into daily workflows.
- Leads operational review meetings to monitor progress, steer execution, and ensure alignment across workstreams.
- Oversees project execution by coordinating all phases from inception to completion, including the planning and management of global conferences. Tracks milestones and implements risk mitigation strategies to address any potential risks. Works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic initiatives are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinates across projects to optimise resource allocation and mitigate risks.
- Ensures infrastructure (technology, processes, procedures) supports strategic goals and recommends enhancements.
- Consolidates project updates into association-wide reporting to the board of directors.
- Monitors financial and time resources, ensuring performance remains on budget and advising on reallocations.
- Financial oversight, including managing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring that financial resources are allocated effectively to support the organization's strategic goals.
Global Enablement & Volunteer Management
- Facilitate collaboration with regional teams and liaisons to ensure localisation and regulatory alignment and ensure operational feasibility of committee initiatives.
- Integrates volunteer contributions into operational workflows, enhancing global reach and community engagement.
Committee Engagement & Strategic Governance
- Acts as liaison for key committees, ensuring strategic alignment and operational support.
- Participate in oversight committees such as the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.
- Provides operational insights on strengths, constraints, and budget implications during committee discussions.
- Supports committee chairs during meetings and contributes to strategic planning at both staff and governance levels.
- Reviews committee minutes and ensure actionable outcomes are integrated into association operations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentoring and developing the team. This involves providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to ensure that team members are equipped to perform their roles effectively and contribute to the organisation's success.
Profile
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Association Management, or other sectors with proven leadership as a manager; freelance experience is also valued
- Experienced in shaping strategic plans in line with the organisational priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to guide board meeting preparation and governance activities, ensuring effective coordination, progress tracking, and alignment across multiple workstreams.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills ; experience with volunteers is a plus
- Strong ability to coordinate workflows and manage high volumes efficiently and on time
- Experience in delegating tasks and mentoring junior team members
- Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments, with the flexibility to adapt priorities
- Creative thinker with a strong focus on execution and results
- Fluent in English (verbal and written, level C1); additional European languages are a plus
- Eligible to work in the EU and available for international travel
- Motivated to join a multicultural, international work environment
