Job Description:

MCI Benelux is looking for an enthusiastic Association Manager.

At MCI Benelux, we don’t only “service” associations, we partner with them. Our clients rely on us to understand their communities, anticipate their needs, and orchestrate a wide range of activities on their behalf, from governance and strategy to events, education, communications, partnerships, and membership.

As Association Manager, you will be at the heart of several professional associations, with a strong focus on medical and healthcare communities. You will sit between Boards and volunteer leaders on one side, and MCI’s multidisciplinary teams on the other, ensuring everything we are contracted to deliver is aligned, coherent, and executed to a high standard.

This is a role for someone who can move comfortably between boardroom conversations, operational coordination, and relationship building, someone who thrives in an agency environment where priorities move fast and no two clients are ever the same.

The Association Manager tasks include the following but are not limited to:

  1. Strategic & Leadership Partnership
  • Act as a senior point of contact for Boards, Presidents, Treasurers, and Executive Committees.
  • Support volunteer leaders in translating strategy into realistic, deliverable plans.
  • Prepare, attend, and follow up on Board and governance meetings, ensuring clarity, structure, and continuity.
  • Ensure good governance, clear decision making, and alignment between volunteer leadership and professional delivery.
  • Bring perspective, challenge when needed, and a strong sense of direction.

  1. End to End Account Ownership
  • Manage a portfolio of associations, each with its own strategy, culture, and priorities.
  • Lead annual planning, budgeting, and performance tracking for each client.
  • Ensure MCI delivers everything we are contracted for.
  • Act as the central point of accountability for client satisfaction, performance, and relationship health.
  • Identify opportunities to evolve, strengthen, or expand the partnership over time.

  1. Internal Team Oversight & Agency Leadership
  • Oversee and coordinate the internal MCI team working on each client, across functions.
  • You don’t need to be the subject matter expert, but you must understand the full scope of delivery inside out.
  • Translate client priorities into clear briefs, timelines, and expectations for internal teams.
  • Hold teams accountable for quality, deadlines, and commitments, escalating when needed.
  • Ensure all activities feel connected and aligned from the client’s perspective

  1. Operational Delivery & Coordination
  • Oversee the delivery of events, education programmes, campaigns, publications, working groups, and other contracted services.
  • Ensure smooth collaboration between MCI teams, external suppliers, and association stakeholders.
  • Anticipate risks, manage dependencies, and step in early when things get complex.
  • Be present when it matters, including on site at key events.

  1. Membership, Community & Volunteer Engagement
  • Oversee membership operations and the overall member experience.
  • Support committees, task forces, and volunteer groups with structure and continuity.
  • Ensure volunteers feel supported, informed, and respected, even when conversations are difficult.
  • Keep the community engaged, informed, and moving forward.

  1. Financial & Performance Oversight
  • Own budgets, forecasts, and financial follow up for your accounts.
  • Ensure transparent reporting to Boards and association leadership.
  • Balance ambition with sustainability.
  • Monitor performance against objectives and adjust course when needed.
