Membership, Chapters & Communities Manager

The Membership, chapters and communities Manager provides leadership and care for the working groups across the association. This includes ownership for the administration of APHON’s 60+ chapters and management of the online communities, committees, and special programs as well as another client of the association solutions team. Success is measured by solid communications, tracking and management of databases, and delivery of a positive customer experience.

 

As a member of the membership engagement and operations team, this role can create innovation and impact for the leaders of the organization while supporting the work of members and affiliates. 

 

Responsibilities include:
•    Administrative support for the chapter network including service as liaison to the Local Chapter Committee, providing support to chapter leaders, coordinating the annual reporting process, maintaining chapter legal records, and enhancing chapter resources
•    Management of the committees including support for communications and document management
•    Management of the volunteer experience from application to placement
•    Serve as the primary owner for online communities becoming the team expert for the Buddy Boss platform
•    Serve as a member of the conference planning team including on-site support at the event annually
•    Provide collaborative support and logistics administration for award programs
•    Contribute to the member engagement and retention process for the organization monitoring membership data, creating reports for the governing board, and collaborating on communications and automations to enhance the member experience
•    Further the values of creating a diverse and inclusive community
•    Oversight and editing of the website for the program areas that fall under this job description
•    Presentation and document creation including procedure manuals, forms, surveys, etc.
•    Support for other duties as assigned

 

•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
•    3-5 years of experience in a similar position or proven track record in management of programs and customer service in an association or non-profit environment
•    Understanding of association membership, affiliate and committee processes is essential to success
•    Familiarity with medical associations and similar background a plus
•    Proven skills working in a matrixed environment managing multiple projects and programs at a time
•    Ability to develop project management plans and deliver to deadlines
•    Demonstrated success working between people and technologies to derive the best out of both
•    Competency in communications and writing. Understanding of APA7 formatting and style a plus

 

Preferred technical skills include experience related to:
•    Association management database and/or CRM platform
•    Buddy Boss or similar digital community environments
•    Microsoft Office suite products including advance use of Teams
•    Smartsheet or other project management tools
•    Word Press or other website platforms
•    Gravity forms, survey design or other similar platforms
•    Canva or basic design software
•    Facilitation of webinars and online meetings


This opportunity is 100% remote; however, in-person meetings may be required with advance notice and based on individual’s location.
Travel to APHON’s Annual Conference once a year in September is expected.
