Business Support Executive

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Business Support Executive, you will provide comprehensive support to various client associations in the Asia-Pacific Region, encompassing management, operational, and administrative functions. Your role involves guiding association subgroups like Chapters and Committees, enhancing membership engagement, and ensuring organizational success through strategic support and effective communication. The role is crucial in maintaining the associations' compliance, and overall strategic objectives within a dynamic marketplace. You will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

 

THE WORK

Administrative Operations (30%)

  • Manage day to day administrative tasks, including correspondence and scheduling, to ensure the smooth functioning of the association's operations.

 

Membership Management (20%)

  • Maintain membership databases, process application and engage members.
  • Identify strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones to grow membership revenue.

 

Governance Support (20%)

  • Provide membership management and committee support, including planning, minuting, and supporting committee meetings.

 

Event Planning and Coordination (10%)

  • Organize meetings, conference, seminars, and other events with a focus on sponsorship, selling and partnering to generate revenue. 

 

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement (15%)

  • Serve as a main point of contact for members, stakeholders, and the public. Leverage communication channels to promote the association's initiatives and engage with potential sponsors and donors.

 

THE CONNECTION 

The Business Support Executive reports to the Account Manager/Business Support Manager

 

THE MUST HAVE

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficiency in administrative duties and database management.
  • Strong customer service mindset and adaptability to changing demands.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and demands of stakeholders.
  • Organizational and leadership skills for effective task management. 
  • Experience in drafting communications and engaging in advocacy and outreach efforts.

 

THE GOOD TO HAVE

  • Experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
  • Familiarity with social media management and website maintenance. 
  • Experience in conducting research and analysis. 
  • Ability to facilitate professional development opportunities for members.
  • Basic understanding of governance structures and procedures.
  • Knowledge of policy implementation processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Any certification or training related to association management or relevant fields.
  • Fluency in additional language is a plus.
