We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Event Project Manager to join our passionate team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, production and delivery of event focussed projects from proposal, to delivery, debrief and final reconciliation in line with client’s requirements. 

 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Deliver events and projects (in their entirety or smaller workstreams on larger events) on time within budget and to meet and exceed client’s expectations. 

  • Take ownership of events from conception to completion, managing timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver exceptional results. 

  • Effectively communicate, maintain and develop client relationships with a view to retaining existing business and developing new opportunities. 

  • Manage supplier relationships. 

  • Collaborate with internal creative teams to develop and refine event concepts that align with client objectives to showcase innovation. 

  • Provide leadership, direction and support to the team whilst maintaining motivation and enthusiasm to successfully deliver the project. 

  • Responsible for financial aspects, including budget creation, monitoring, and reconciliation to ensure projects are delivered within scope and budget. 

  • Coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, vendor management, and on-site execution to ensure flawless delivery. 

  • Travel onsite, attend and project manage events as required. 

  • Pro-actively report up on development of projects to the Client lead. 

  • Drive for excellence in customer service and quality delivery. 

  • Monitor and maintain quality and adherence to processes, identifying and contributing to their improvement. 

  • Represent MCI UK (and the wider group) as and when necessary or appropriate. 

 

Job Requirements 

  • Three years proven experience in event production/event management working for an agency. 

  • Educated to degree level/professional qualification or qualified by experience. 

  • Experience of planning, developing and delivering events and communication programmes in the private and/or public sectors.

  • Experience in logistics planning and management with the ability to make decisions around logistical elements of event planning. 

  • Experience of working across industry sectors. 

  • Confidence dealing with clients at all levels of the business - manage and respond to their requests and questions in a timely manner. 

  • Good destination knowledge of UK and overseas. 

  • Proven experience in monitoring and managing budgets of £500k+, ensuring profitability of events. 

  • Proven experience in negotiating with suppliers. 

  • Proven track record of managing large scale projects in a service environment. 

  • Proven experience working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary project teams such as creative, marketing and finance and understand internal and external resource requirements of a project. 

  • Attend industry events, FAM Trips and supplier meetings to increase knowledge and maintain relationships with suppliers. 

  • Able to work as part of large project teams and comfortable proactively managing smaller scale projects independently. 

  • Knowledge and ability to complete relevant H&S paperwork required for events (utilising templates). 

  • Experience mentoring or managing a junior, such as an Account Exec or Project Coordinator. 

  • Onsite management of project, effectively managing suppliers and staff to ensure implementation of the event, address any issues and remain adaptable with effective problem solving ensuring a high standard of delivery. 

  • Computer literate in Microsoft products. 

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English. 

  • Eligible to work in the UK. 

  • Regular UK and International travel will be required as part of this role.
