JOB OBJECTIVE
The Executive Director (part-time position) serves as the primary administrator and project manager for assigned Giving Institute and Giving USA’s programs, committees, and initiatives. This position is responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations, managing project timelines, supporting volunteer leaders, maintaining records, facilitating meetings, and ensuring successful execution of organizational priorities.
This role is highly project and execution-focused, emphasizing project coordination, member support, communications, and operational follow-through. This role works closely with volunteer leaders, the Board, committees, vendors, and staff to ensure projects remain on schedule and deliverables are completed accurately and efficiently.
As a member of the MCI USA team, the Executive Director is equally accountable for the health of the GI/GUSA accounts within MCI’s full-service management portfolio. COMPENSATION: $$45,000 - $46,250 annually, based on relevant experience and skills.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Governance, Project Management and Administration:
- Monitors the day-to-day delivery of the organization's programs and services to maintain or improve quality.
- Serves as chief staff executive for GI/GUSA with responsibility of staff management and oversight.
- Supports the GI/GUSA Boards of Directors by working collaboratively with the Chair, officers, and committee chairs and by routinely providing staff reports and data as needed.
- Related tasks include providing staff support for the Board of Directors and assigned committees, including scheduling meetings, developing recommended meeting agenda and meeting materials, and developing resource materials.
- Coordinate and monitor progress on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ensure deadlines are met and follow up with staff, volunteers, and vendors as needed.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities among internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare project updates and reports for Board and committees.
Committee & Volunteer Support
- Serve as the primary staff liaison and strategic advisor for assigned committees and task forces.
- Support volunteer engagement by providing timely communication and administrative assistance.
- Coordinate logistics for board meetings, committee meetings, webinars, and events.
- Staff Leadership and Financial Management
- In coordination with the Treasurer, manage finances, budgets, processes, and procedures; reviews finances for Board of Directors’ reports; and monitors for needed adjustments to GI/GUSA budgets or investment portfolio.
- Oversees the administration of the funds of the organization according to the approved budget and monitors the cash flow of the organization.
- Provide leadership and oversight of the GI/GUSA -designated staff team, fostering a high-performing, engaged, and accountable culture aligned with organizational goals, incorporating feedback from GI/GUSA volunteers.
- In partnership with MCI's People and Culture team, support talent management efforts including recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, professional development, succession planning, and retention.
Account Management & Partnership Stewardship (MCI)
- Ensure a strong, productive, and mutually beneficial relationship between GI/GUSA and MCI USA, maintaining a high level of trust, service, and collaboration.
- Manage the GI/GUSA resources in alignment with the contracted scope of services, approved staffing model, service expectations, and financial objectives.
- Partner with MCI USA leadership to monitor account performance, resource allocation, service delivery, and overall account sustainability, proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen results and partnership value.
- Identify and elevate potential scope changes, capacity constraints, service-level concerns, or emerging risks, and collaborate with MCI leadership on appropriate solutions.
- Contribute operational insight and recommendations that support contract stewardship, long-term partnership success, and future planning discussions between GI/GUSA and MCI USA.
- Maintain awareness of MCI USA capabilities and, when appropriate, identify opportunities that could enhance member value, organizational effectiveness, or GI/GUSA strategic objectives.
- Model the win-win partnership philosophy by balancing advocacy for GI/GUSA’s missions and priorities with responsible stewardship of MCI USA resources and commitments.
- Identify out-of-scope requests, capacity concerns, or service changes early and work with MCI leadership to ensure appropriate resolution, pricing, or contract alignment.
- Responsible for the overall health of the GI/GUSA engagement, including client satisfaction, appropriate resource utilization, scope discipline, and sustainable account performance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 5-8 years of Association Management Company (AMC) experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated progressive management experience in an association or non-profit organization.
- Ability to engage participation from all levels, and generate passion for the association’s work, both internally and externally.
- Travel is required to manage and execute Giving Institute and Giving USA meetings, 3 per year.
