JOB OBJECTIVE         

Reporting to the Controller with exposure to finance leadership, the Finance Intern will support day-to-day accounting and finance operations across MCI USA. This role offers hands-on experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, process documentation, and analysis while providing the opportunity to build practical skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented self-starter who is eager to learn, contributes proactively, and takes pride in accuracy, professionalism, and teamwork. #LI-Remote

 

COMPENSATION: $20-25 hourly based on relevant experience and skills.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES                  

  • Support day-to-day finance and accounting activities, including data entry, record maintenance, reconciliations, and review of balance sheet items to help ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Research variances and discrepancies, prepare supporting schedules and documentation, and assist with month-end, audit, and internal review activities.
  • Contribute to cash flow reporting, financial analysis, and other recurring or ad hoc reporting needs while helping document and improve finance processes, templates, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support accounts receivable and related transaction processing, including applying cash receipts, resolving payment discrepancies, processing client payments, monitoring the AR inbox, preparing invoices, posting remittance checks, and closing completed projects in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with finance team members and cross-functional partners to complete assigned projects, maintain confidentiality of financial information, participate in team meetings, and take on additional duties as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; relevant internship, coursework, or campus leadership experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills, with excellent attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the initiative to ask questions, learn quickly, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Professionalism, accountability, and discretion in handling sensitive information.

SPECIFIC TECHNICAL SKILLS        

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with formulas, sorting/filtering, and data organization preferred
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and reconciliations
  • Exposure to ERP or accounting systems is helpful; SAP experience is a plus
