Job Description: 

JOB OBJECTIVE         

The position serves as a member of the Housing Operations Team within the Convention Division. The Housing VIP/Exhibitor Specialist, Convention Housing responsibilities include but are not limited to; working directly with exhibiting companies and contacts for large groups to accommodate the needs of the organization. They will engage in various aspects of the client customer service experience, including inbound/outbound calls, conference attendee registration, and hotel reservations. #LI-Remote

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES                  

  • Manage inbound calls/emails pertaining to exhibitor/group services for assigned events serviced by MCI USA 
  • Review and maintain a thorough understanding of all event guidelines
  • Work in tandem with lead Housing and/or Registration account executives for quality control and service
  • Input of housing and/or registration lists including processing changes 
  • Communicate regularly with exhibitors/groups about housing and registration deadlines
  • If necessary, send Welcome Letters and Rooming Lists to groups with allocated
  • Contact companies/groups with invalid or declined credit cards
  • Complete the unprocessed reservation list for assigned events
  • Conduct limited travel onsite for shows that do early exhibitor housing
  • Send out housing marketing email blasts working in conjunction with the housing exec and client for approvals.
  • All other duties as assigned

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree preferred but not required.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-task oriented.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Professional and polished appearance.

 

PROFESSIONAL AND LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES   

  • Knowledge of housing/hotel/convention industry preferred
  • Display a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Works well under pressure.

 

SPECIFIC TECHNICAL SKILLS        

  • Proficient in Passkey software or other housing/hotel software platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

 

Other Requirements

  • Travel: Approximately 10-20%
  • Lifting, carrying up 50lbs.
  • Standing for extended hours of time without breaks.
