JOB OBJECTIVE
Paediatric hematology and oncology nurses are setting and achieving the highest standards of care for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. The role of the membership and community coordinator is key to ensuring that members, chapters, committees, and volunteer leaders are properly supported, informed, and engaged.

COMPENSATION: $54,704 - $56,160 annually, based on relevant experience and skills.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual who steps into this role should hold a philosophy of servant leadership while being able to address multiple areas of work at one time. Responsibilities include:
Membership
- Achieve functional proficiency of the association management system database including the ability to process dues, registrations, and other member transactions.
- Provide high-quality member services and engagement including responding to general inquiries from members/volunteers via phone calls and email communication.
- Support membership efforts including recruitment, retention, recognition and engagement and campaigns.
- Support the compilation of monthly reports.
Chapters
- Administrative support for APHON’s fifty plus chapters including management of the annual reporting process, filing annual business reports with the state, and maintaining the records such as articles of incorporation, bylaws, officer lists, and more.
- Support the Local Chapter Committee with the meetings and operations.
- Provide responses to chapter leaders related to questions per operational guidelines.
Account Management
- Help maintain a positive, productive relationship between the client and MCI USA
- Support day-to-day service delivery for the account
- Track basic account details and share updates with your supervisor
- Flag any client concerns, service issues, or unusual requests to your MCI supervisor
- Contribute to evaluation of scope of work and gather feedback and recommendations
- Build working knowledge of MCI's business lines and resources so they can be applied to the client as needed
- Follow MCI USA's processes while being a helpful point of contact for the client
- Help prepare updates on account activity for your MCI supervisor, to support MCI account and Board reporting
Committee and Volunteer Management
- Support management of volunteers from the annual call for volunteer process to maintaining records, volunteer assignments, and recognition such as supporting annual award programs.
- Provide operational support for the Member Connection online community platform managing access for private community groups.
- Support the executive director with general board operations including
- Maintain APHON’s public event calendar and assist with virtual and/or onsite association events including attending APHON’s annual meeting to support the booth, registration desk, and general logistics as requested.
General Operations
- Work in various technology platforms including ability to make minor website updates, create online forms and surveys, make presentations, and manage Zoom meetings and webinars.
- Provide back up support for the operations coordinator responsible for accounts payables, invoicing, payment batching, and order entry.
Account Support and Commercial Awareness
- Support the delivery of contracted services by maintaining awareness of scope, service commitments, and client expectations.
- Proactively identify and escalate member, volunteer, chapter, or service-related concerns that may impact client satisfaction, account health, or delivery of services.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position reports to the Director of Governance, Engagement, and Operations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (written & oral).
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer/member service even in difficult situations.
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in fast-paced work environment.
- Applicant must be extremely organized, diligent, able to multi-task, and operate with only the highest degree of integrity.
PROFESSIONAL AND LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES
- Proven skills working with a variety of people and cultures.
- Ability to organize self and work independently and deliver to deadlines.
- Fundamental understanding of associations and volunteer environments.
SPECIFIC TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Forms), general computing skills, and the internet.
- Experience with Association Management Systems (AMS) and community platforms preferred.
- Experience with basic document management in Adobe and design in Canva preferred.
ADDITIONAL LOCAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel once per year domestically for the annual conference.
