Salary: 140k -150k 

Job Summary: The Director, Finance will lead the Association Solutions Finance function while overseeing the finance team. This role requires providing leadership, training, and oversight for several Association Solutions association clients, contributing to a positive team culture at MCI USA. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the Association Solutions accounting and finance function, including supervision of the finance team. 

  • Develop and participate in board presentations and business development opportunities as needed. 

  • Review current accounting procedures and implement process improvements to best serve the nearly 30 nonprofit organizations managed via MCI USA Associations Solutions. 

  • Serve as an informed and trusted resource to the President, Association Solutions, Association Solutions Senior Leadership Team, and all client and departmental leaders. 

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly client financial statements for each Association Solutions client partner to meet deadlines and ensure compliance with company and client policies and US GAAP. 

  • Provide leadership, training, and oversight in the annual budgeting process for Association Solutions association clients. 

  • Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation for each Association Solutions client association. 

  • Ensure both state and federal regulatory requirements and deadlines are met for each Association Solutions client association. 

  • Direct financial elements of Association Solutions client transitions, both on and off the MCI AS platform. 

  • Administer and manage a suite of software applications to support Association Solutions full-service production. 

  • Ensure the finance team contributes to a strong client-MCI USA relationship. 

  • Serve as the head of finance for several clients, primarily Copper Development Association (CDA). 

Specific Responsibilities for CDA: 

  • Manage, train, and guide all MCI USA finance staff supporting CDA. 

  • Drive efficiency model and implementation of new procedures. 

  • Manage financial and expense management systems, accounting software, and financial reporting. 

  • Review banking activity, bank reconciliation, foreign activities, and all monthly reporting. 

  • Supervise preparation, distribution, and timely delivery of monthly accrual-based financial statements for CDA in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) schedule. 

  • Prepare ad hoc reporting for CEO, regional CFOs, MCI USA management, and other members of the CDA leadership team. 

  • Coordinate CDA annual audit through engagement and cooperation with board-approved third-party audit firm and work with the audit committee to facilitate and finalize audited financials for presentation to the board. 

  • Provide budgeting, cost accounting, and other planning assistance to CDA leadership. 

  • Partner with CDA President in preparation and participation in board presentations. 

  • Provide financial guidance for relevant ad hoc projects, discussions, and analyses. 

  • Perform ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

  • Seven to ten years of related accounting and financial experience, including three years of progressive supervisory experience with a track record of success. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; MBA, CFA highly preferred.  

  • CPA required. 

  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills. 

  • Strong supervisory skills and ability to develop and lead a growing team. 

  • Ability to lead and manage multiple, simultaneous client deliverables and work successfully within a geographically dispersed, matrixed environment. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (advanced Excel proficiency required).
