JOB OBJECTIVE
The position serves as a member of the MCI USA Convention Division. The Vice President of Sales is a professional sales executive with a quota for new business each year and manages a portfolio of clients they have signed or have been assigned to them.
They establish and maintain a strong presence within our marketplace. They participate in industry events to promote MCI and their ability to consult with clients and provide solutions to clients' business challenges.
They generate sales opportunities and nurture those opportunities throughout the sales cycle. They act as the primary MCI point of contact and manage the sales strategy to win the account.
Once a service agreement is in place, they act as the client’s primary sales contact with the objective of serving as a critical and strategic liaison between the client and MCI's internal departments. They are the primary person responsible for maintaining the sales relationship and securing contract renewals when each of their clients’ contracts expires. #LI-Remote
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a positive presence within the markets we serve.
- Promote MCI within the markets we serve.
- Generate sales opportunities within the markets we serve.
- Lead the sales process for opportunities assigned or generated.
- Participate in marketing opportunities throughout the year.
- Attend industry networking and sales functions throughout the year.
- Meet annual sales quota.
- Proactively renew client contracts using profit margin data and the sales margin estimating tools available to the sales team.
- Proactively manage assigned clients by working with them to solve challenges or meet their business goals. Act as the liaison between the client and the internal MCI departments working on their events.
- Track client and sales progress within the applications used by MCI.
- Work with critical cross-functional stakeholders, including Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Operations, to drive changes that improve client service, relationships, and profitability.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- College degree
- 5 years of experience selling registration and/or housing, or tradeshow technology, or equivalent
- Proven sales track record
- Proficient in the Cvent Platform or commitment to becoming Cvent Certified
- Works well under pressure in client-facing environments
