Account Manager
The Account Manager will manage and develop of client accounts with the support of an event management team, offering the full range of MCI event solutions to clients and prospect clients. He / She has the key communication role before, during and after events – should be the “one point liaison” for clients and identifies, negotiates, engages and manages suppliers/vendors to support the production of an event. The Account Manager handles budget/cost management for events.
Your mission
Leadership & Relationship Management
- First point of Contact for Brand Teams/ Operates as the point of contact for assigned customers
- Generate sales among existing client accounts, including upselling and cross-selling
- Develops and maintains long-term relationships with accounts
- Makes sure clients receive requested products and services in a timely fashion
- Forecasts and tracks client account metrics
- Internal: Business list & forecast, profitability & productivity
- External: main customer KPIs – Savings/Client Satisfaction/virtual versus live
- Manage projects within client relationships, working to carry out client goals while meeting company goals
- Identifies opportunities to grow business with existing clients
- Coordinate with staff members working on the same account to ensure consistent service
- Collaborates with sales team to reach prospective clients
- Service multiple clients concurrently, often meeting deadlines
- Keep records of client transactions
- Attributes operational staff to the different projects
- Supporting all team members on the account to ensure consistent and leading-edge event experience by capturing and deploying best practice and mentoring as necessary
- Drives and monitors operational excellence within project teams.
- Point of contact for the staff. Manages staff planning. Managing & coaching project coordinators and project managers with a focus on their professional and personal development (operational development is endorsed by DoO or PD)
- Manages a team of full-time and freelance operational staff
- Ensures adherence to regulatory requirements
- Managing and coaching project managers with a focus on their professional and personal development
Project Management
- Together with Brand Teams, produces a yearly planning mapping of event activity over the year
- Provides expertise and know-how as well as event management support to Brand Teams for meeting activities (e.g. audience engagement, digital solutions, congress activities, stand-alone events, social functions, symposia, exhibition stands, accommodation, etc.) within the account event guidelines
- Coordinates and manages the various agencies taking part in the organisation of a event
- Ensure consistent quality service, respect of KPIs, timelines, communications, regulatory Quality as a Quest!
- On-site logistics and client management
- Financial Management
- Drives and monitors client profitability
- Drives and monitors cost savings and added value for the client
Administration and IT
Provides regular and accurate data reporting relating to meeting activity handled for the Brand teams.
The Meeting & Evens Account Manager reports to the Director of Events & Brand Experiences and works with a team of Project directors, managers, coordinators and trainees. Closely works with the finance department.
Your profile
- At least of 7 years’ experience in the Meeting & Events Industry and a proven track record in planning, developing and delivering events and communication programmes in the private and/or public sector within an international environment
- Fluent in English and French (additional language is a strong asset)
- Post-graduate degree (MBA or similar), or a degree in Event Management, Hotel Management, Tourism or another relevant domain
- Excellent knowledge of the Swiss territory and an extensive local network
- Ability to lead a small team and foster an atmosphere of motivation and performance, deliver small and large scale projects in a service environment
- Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organising, prioritising, and scheduling work assignments
